Fretless

This Mexican Fender Stratocaster is my first electric guitar and it used to be black gloss bodied. Made a few changes to it...sounds a lot different now...

Ripped the frets out

Filled with some marine resin then sanded the neck smooth

Reshaped the body and pickguard, stripped the paint and headstock, refinished everything and Bam! ...my first fretless guitar was born. Running a combo of bass and electric flat wounds on it. Fat and smooth...

Remake with a Twist

Two inches shorter, pulled the nose in, and gave the deck some concave. Shred time!

Isla Vista: Population 1

Found these pics from a while back. When I was living in Isla Vista I did a project where I harvested bamboo from the neighborhood, designed and build myself a hut, installed it in an empty lot, and asked my friend Lindsey Ross to shoot one morning with some of her nifty film cameras. I mainly wanted to just build a hut, but I squeezed some college credits out of this project so I guess the goal was to portray a place with an extremely high population density as something completely opposite...

The Living Dead

Buddy Matt Zabatta came by the shop today to snap some pics and brought with him a mangled blank found in the garage rafters. Looked like a lost cause at first, but I found some life in there. It was revived it into a 6'0'' Mint Chip.
