Isla Vista: Population 1

Found these pics from a while back. When I was living in Isla Vista I did a project where I harvested bamboo from the neighborhood, designed and build myself a hut, installed it in an empty lot, and asked my friend Lindsey Ross to shoot one morning with some of her nifty film cameras. I mainly wanted to just build a hut, but I squeezed some college credits out of this project so I guess the goal was to portray a place with an extremely high population density as something completely opposite...

The Living Dead

Buddy Matt Zabatta came by the shop today to snap some pics and brought with him a mangled blank found in the garage rafters. Looked like a lost cause at first, but I found some life in there. It was revived it into a 6'0'' Mint Chip.

Arwin Deep in the Music

No digital filter. Used some point and shoot through the lens of a pair of seeded watermelon glasses.
You should see Arwin shred that bass on the wall when he is not working at South Coast Deli in Santa Barbara. Great spot to grub if you are in the area.

Shape: SLDR

This one was crafted out of a severed longboard blank. Measures at 4'6'' and tends to enjoy punchier, hollow surf.

Belly to deep single concave with some side flare for a bit of control.

The Jam: Zappa Again

Shape: Beluga

Shape: Beefcake

Fresh out of the oven comes the Beefcake!
A bulkier step-up board for quicker paddling and drive, but small enough for performance maneuverability. The rear 2/3 mimics a template of a 7'0'' mini-gun and the front 1/3 is similar to a stubbier 5'10'' performance short-board. This board measures at 6'2''

A Few Old Boards Still in the Quiver

(From Left to Right) We have the original Mint Chip, Beluga, and Flexfish from back in the day. All still riding strong!
